  • Anthology of contemporary Polish prose in Azerbaijani language

     

    The Anthology of contemporary Polish prose contains 16 stories of famous Polish writers whose texts were translated for the first time from Polish into Azerbaijani language. The project was supervised by teachers of Polish language in Baku, Katarzyna and Łukasz Kaleta. The translation was done by Polish language students and graduates of the Polish Culture and Language Centre at the Baku Slavic University. The project was conducted in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Baku.

    Books of Azerbaijani writers published in Poland

    Salim Babullaoglu (ed.). Czerwona Limuzyna. Antologia wspolczesnej prozy azerbejdzanskiej. Warszawa 2007.


     

     

     

     

      

    An anthology "Czerwona limuzyna" (Polish for "Red Limousine") contains 19 stories by 15 contemporary Azerbaijani writers. The texts were chosen by a poet and editor-in-chief of "World's Literature" magazine, Salim Babullaoglu (born 1972). In his magazine he had published works of Czeslaw Milosz, Wislawa Szymborska and Krzysztof Zanussi's essays. The translation was done by Polish-language students and graduates of Baku Slavic University and supervised by Polish teachers, Katarzyna and Lukasz Kaleta.

    The author of a poetry book titled "Poswiecone biciu serca" (Polish for "Committed to the Heart-beating") is Babullaoglu himself. The book was translated by students and graduates of BSU.

    A prosaic work "Wstyd" (English "Repentance") was written by Huseinbala Miralamov (born 1947). It was translated by Lukasz Kaleta.
